The GySgt W. J. Norris Detachment #804, Marine Corps League, is the Toys for Tots Representative for western Kentucky, an area encompassing 9 counties (291,800 population and 3696 Square miles). Locally, Marine Corps veterans and Marine Corps League members make up the volunteer network that makes a difference in the lives of less fortunate children in the Owensboro area, as far south as Hopkins County, Ky., and , including Southern Indiana.
Our campaign begins October 1st and we began collecting toys November 1st and will continue until December 22. Our volunteers work very hard to make Toys for Tots a success, but we could never do it without the help of generous citizens and business leaders. We rely on local citizens and local businesses for assistance in a number of areas. You help us make a difference and we can’t begin to thank you for your support.
The gift of a shiny new toy – something that most children take for granted – means to a needy child that someone he/she doesn’t even know cares about them and he/she has not been forgotten. You will begin to see your local Toys for Tots route team checking the drop boxes weekly and gathering toys. 100 % of the toys collected for donations made to Toys for Tots stay in the area in which they are collected.
The Marine Corps League believes that “Every Child Deserves a Little Christmas,” and we are asking you to help us send the needy children of our community a message of hope every Christmas. Your tax-deductible donation, however large or small, will be appreciated and help us fill in the gaps so no child goes without. We are all volunteers and any expenses are underwritten by local or national sponsors so 100% of donations can be used to purchase toys.
All check donations must be made out to ‘Toys for Tots’. The Toys for Tots Program is an IRS recognized 501© (3), tax deductible, non-profit charity.
